Every square metre of insulated wall panel installed in your facility does its job well — cold stays in, warm stays out — until the door opens, or the door doesn't seal properly when closed. Poorly-sealed doors waste refrigeration energy every hour of operation, introduce temperature fluctuations that damage product quality, and eventually fail in ways that require expensive replacement.

Why cold storage doors are a specialty category
Cold storage doors face engineering challenges that no other door application shares — continuously cold temperatures on one side, warm ambient on the other, humid air condensing on cold surfaces, sanitation chemicals repeatedly washing the door, thousands of opening cycles per year, and the constant pressure differential from operating refrigeration systems trying to force cold air out through every seal gap.
Standard commercial doors — even good commercial doors — fail predictably in these conditions:
Warm-side doors sag on their hinges because the constant thermal cycling between warm and cold sides distorts the door panel over time. Within 2-3 years, the seal at the top of the door has a visible gap. Within 5 years, the door is unserviceable.
Steel tracks corrode in the humid environment of every cold storage facility. Cheap sliding door tracks fail within 3-5 years. Aluminium extrusion tracks last 20+ years — the difference between a door that works and a door you're constantly maintaining.
Standard EPDM gaskets stiffen at cold temperatures and lose their ability to compress into a hermetic seal. Freezer doors need low-temperature EPDM formulations that stay flexible down to -40°C. Blast freezer doors need heated seal frames to prevent gasket freeze-stick during high-cycle operation.
Insulation thickness must match room temperature. A chiller room door with 80mm PUF works fine at +5°C — the same door on a freezer at -20°C loses heat through condensation and creates dripping problems. Blast freezer doors need 150mm PUF minimum.

Sliding doors — the industry standard
Single-Leaf Sliding Doors for openings from 1,000 to 2,400 mm — the most common cold storage door type. Aluminium extrusion overhead track with 3D closing movement produces hermetic seal on all four sides. Manual operation standard, motor drive upgrade available.
Double-Leaf Sliding Doors for openings from 2,000 to 4,000 mm and above — wider access for forklift and pallet movement. Two door panels close together from opposite sides, sealing at a central meeting point plus four-side frame seal. Same aluminium track and hermetic seal technology as single-leaf.
Automatic Sliding Doors for high-cycle applications requiring hands-free operation — dedicated automatic platform with motor drive, proximity sensors, and safety edge protection. Different from sliding doors with retrofit motor kits: purpose-built for continuous automatic duty.
Hinged doors — for smaller openings
Hinged Doors and Insulated Hinged Doors for openings under 1,200 mm where sliding geometry is not required — pedestrian access, service doors, escape routes. Heavy-duty hinges engineered for cold storage weight loads with adjustable seal compression.
Specialty cold-side doors
Blast Freezer Doors for chambers operating at -30°C to -40°C — heaviest-duty construction, maximum insulation thickness, specialised low-temperature gasket materials, heated seal frame to prevent freeze-stick. Purpose-built for blast freezing operations that hinged or standard sliding doors cannot handle.
Display Glass Doors for retail merchandising applications — insulated glass panels in cold room walls allow product display without opening the door. Common in beverage warehousing, produce showrooms, and specialty retail cold storage.
High-throughput specialty
Rolling High-Speed Doors for facilities where door cycle count exceeds 200 openings per day — a flexible curtain rolls up and down in seconds rather than sliding open. Dramatically reduces cold air loss per cycle in operations like distribution warehouses, food processing lines, and cross-dock facilities.
